Ten national teams contested the Under 19 category at the World Championship 2026, after Mexico withdrew from the category shortly before the event. What was left was a field that produced one of the more competitive finals of the whole tournament, with the United States beating Norway 4-1 to win a fifth straight Under 19 title.

Pool stage

The United States topped Pool A with 8 points and a 16-2 margin, well clear of a tie for second between Finland and Norway that finished level on points after the two sides drew 3-3 head to head. Norway advanced from that group into the semi-finals. Poland won Pool B unbeaten, finishing 8 points clear of France, Great Britain, Belgium and Germany.

Knockout rounds

The United States beat France 2-1 in the first semi-final, a tighter game than the pool stage had suggested was coming, while Norway beat Poland 4-0 in the other semi-final, ending an unbeaten Polish run through the pool stage in one-sided fashion.

Poland recovered to beat France 3-2 for bronze, a result that put the pool-stage runner-up on the podium after their surprise semi-final defeat.

The final

The United States beat Norway 4-1 in the final, played at 17:10 on the NXL Pro field, for a fifth consecutive Under 19 World Championship.

What it means

Five titles in a row, stretching back to 2022 when the category returned to the World Championship calendar after the pandemic years, is one of the most dominant runs in the competition's history in any category.

Norway's silver is their second in the category, adding to a gold in 2019 and a silver in 2022, and confirms the federation as one of the most consistent forces in Under 19 paintball outside the United States.

Poland's bronze came after an unbeaten run through the pool stage, a result that shows the depth the federation is building at youth level, the same week their senior Men's team broke through for a first-ever World Championship gold.

Ten teams, two finalists who have now met at the top of the category more than once, and a United States side that shows no sign of relinquishing its grip on the youngest of the World Championship's five categories.

On the numbers

Under 19 played 24 games across the two days, with 11 of them, close to half the category's schedule, on the tournament's main webcast field, the highest share of any category except Men. Ten of the category's 20 preliminary games were shown on the main field, with the knockout rounds narrowing back to just the final itself once the quarter-finals and semi-finals moved to the secondary field.

That balance gave the pool stage plenty of visibility before the format tightened, and it was pool form that told much of the story. Poland's unbeaten run through Pool B and the United States' dominant Pool A campaign both played out in front of the cameras before Norway's run through the knockouts, capped by that 4-0 semi-final win over Poland, took the tournament by surprise.
